Wairarapa Homestay

Among the Totara Trees
I invite you to stay as my guest in a lovely, peaceful spot, in an olive grove by the Waiohine River, with views of the Rimutaka Hills and a night sky that is awe-inspiring. My home is only a 10 minute drive to Greytown and Carterton, with superb dining, boutique shopping, and easy driving distance to a number of special places. It is particularly suitable for young children and people in wheelchairs.

I want your visit to be relaxing and fun. There are many enjoyable activities at my place and I can provide advice on where to go in the Wairarapa. I can even provide guided tours which focus on my guests’ special interests. I specialise in rural Wairarapa but I can assist with wine tours, coastal visits, nature walks, the National Wildlife Centre, boutique shopping or outdoor adventure activities.

Continental Breakfast

A continental breakfast is included with accommodation.  When the sun is shining breakfast is served outside on the north patio.

Pizza oven

In the evening if the weather is suitable, guests might like a wood fired pizza ($25 each), which they help prepare and cook or they may wish to use the kitchen (free) to prepare their own meal. With a day's notice I can also provide a simple three course meal ($30 each, byo).

Small Events

With adequate notice I can book out the entire house and grounds for a unique celebration such as a special birthday or small wedding. Although there are only four private rooms and three bathrooms, tents (not provided) can be erected on the lawn and mattresses (provided) spread throughout the house. First night $600, additional nights $400

Bicycles

There are bicycles and helmets available to borrow suitable for all age groups.
The site is very peaceful with only birdsong and the occasional sound of nearby farm animals. It is a great place for relaxing under the beautiful old totara trees, walking beside the river or watching small children play in the spacious grounds.

Games

Children enjoy playing cricket, football and water games on the spacious lawn and adults enjoy the outside chess, draughts and croquet.
